Traditional Autumn Irish tea bread, made with succulent sultanas, candied peel and a distinctive hint of ginger. Bracks were traditionally associated with Halloween in Ireland, and would have been baked with an item (often a ring) placed inside the bread, with the person who receives it considered to be fortunate.
Whatever the time of year, toasted with a bit of butter and a cup of tea, you cannot beat a bit of brack!
